Shipping Agencies
Shipping agencies serve as a vital link between international shipping lines and the Yemen Arabian Sea Ports Corporation, ensuring the smooth flow of vessel movement and cargo traffic.
Role of the Shipping Agent The shipping agent is considered the legal and technical representative of the vessel and its owners during its stay in the port. Accredited shipping agencies at Arabian Sea ports handle pre-coordination for vessel entry, provide necessary permits, and monitor loading and unloading operations, in addition to providing all logistical requirements for sea crews.
Standards and Obligations The Corporation is keen to regulate the work of shipping agencies in accordance with the laws and regulations in force in the Republic of Yemen, and in compliance with international standards to ensure:
-
Speed in completing port transactions
-
Accuracy in submitting data and the Manifest
-
Compliance with maritime safety and security rules
